
On the mathematics portion of the test, a significant gender gap exists. Women had an average score of 499, compared to an average score for men of 530.
On the writing section of the test, women had an average score of 492. Men scored an average of 481.
The average combined score for women of 1486 is 24 points below the average combined score for men. Since 2006 when the SAT test was revised, the average combined score for both men and women has dropped by 20 points.
