One Woman Among Four Finalists for Director of the Center for Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts

S_jellison-jodyThe University of Massachusetts at Amherst has announced the names of four finalists for the position of director of the Center for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment. The person selected for the post will also hold the title of assistant vice president for agricultural research and engagement.

All four candidates will visit the Amherst campus during the September 9-23 period for a series of interviews and public presentations. One of the four finalists is a woman.

Jody L. Jellison is associate director of the Virginia Agricultural Experiment State on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Before coming to Virginia Tech in 2011, Dr. Jellison was director of the School of Biology and Ecology at the University of Maine.

Dr. Jellison is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she majored in botany and plant pathology. She holds a master’s degree in plant pathology and a Ph.D. in plant virology from Oregon State University.
