Five Women Who Are Taking on New Faculty Roles

MorrisMarilyn Morris was named a University at Buffalo Distinguished Professor. She is a professor and vice chair of the department of pharmaceutical sciences at the university and has served on the faculty since 1985. Recently, Professor Morris was elected president of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

Dr. Morris is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Ottawa and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from the University at Buffalo.

Kazempour newswireMahsa Kazempour was promoted to associate professor of science education at Pennsylvania State University-Berks in Reading. She was also granted tenure. Dr. Kazempour has been on the university’s faculty since 2010.

Dr. Kazempour is a graduate of Santa Clara University in California. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction in science education from Indiana University in Bloomington.

ruihong-huangRuihong Huang will joined the department of computer science and engineering at Texas A&M University in the fall of 2015 as an assistant professor. For the coming academic year, Dr. Huang will be conducting postdoctoral research at Stanford University.

Dr. Huang is a graduate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and holds a master’s degree in computer science from Shandong University in China. She earned a Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Utah.

Greenwald work pictureMargaret Greenwald was appointed chair of the department of communication sciences and disorders at Wayne State University in Detroit. She is an associate professor in the department and her research focuses on adult neurogenic communication disorders.

Dr. Greenwald is a graduate of Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in speech language and pathology from the University of Florida.

Francesca+CavalloFrancesca Cavallo is joining the faculty at the Center for High Technology Materials at the University of New Mexico. She was a research scientist in the department of materials science and engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Cavallo earned her Ph.D. in electrical engineering and information technology from the Technical University of Chemnitz in Germany.
