Claire S. Philipp was appointed to the Melvyn, Ab, and Yetta Motolinsky Chair in Hematology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Phillip is a professor of medicine and chief of the division of hematology at the medical school. She joined the Rutgers faculty in 1993 after working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Professor Phillip earned her bachelor’s and medical degrees at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Berger holds two master’s degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. She holds doctoral degrees from Heidelberg University and the University of Munster.
