Cynthia Warrick Selected to Lead Grambling State University in Louisiana

Sandra Woodley, president of the University of Louisiana System is recommending to the board of supervisors that Cynthia Warrick be named interim president of Grambling State University, effective July 1. The board will vote on the recommendation at its June 27 meeting.
Dr. Warrick currently serves as senior fellow at the Center for Minority Health Services Research in the College of Pharmacy at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She has been at Howard since 2009. However, she spent the 2012-13 academic year as interim president of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. She is the former dean and professor of pharmacy at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. Earlier in her career, Dr. Warrick taught at Florida A&M University and the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston.
Dr. Warrick is a graduate of Howard University. She earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a doctorate in environmental science and public policy at George Mason University.
