Two Women Promoted to Full Professor at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota

carletonCarleton College, the highly ranked liberals arts educational institution in Northfield, Minnesota, has announced that seven faculty members have been promoted to the rank of full professor. Two of the seven faculty members promoted to full professor are women.

Carol Donelan was promoted to professor of cinema and media studies. She teaches courses on film analysis, history, genres, and theory. She has served on the college’s faculty since 1999. Professor Donelan is a graduate of Iowa State University, where she majored in communication studies. She holds master’s degrees in comparative literature and film studies from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in comparative literature with a concentration in film studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

nierobiszAnnette Nierobisz was appointed professor of sociology. She has taught at Carleton College since 2000. Her research is focused on the sociology of work and the sociology of law. Professor Nierobisz is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg, where she doubled majored in sociology and justice and law enforcement. She holds a master’s degree in sociology from Queen’s University in Kingston and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Toronto.
