Emerson College Scholar Wins the Pulitzer Prize in Biography

megan-marshallFuller BookMegan Marshall, an associate professor of creative writing at Emerson College in Boston, has won the Pulitzer Prize for biography for her book Margaret Fuller: A New American Life (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013). Fuller was a nineteenth-century author, journalist, and advocate for women’s rights. She died in a shipwreck off Fire Island in New York in 1850.

Professor Fuller is a graduate of Harvard University. Her earlier book, Peabody Sisters: Three Sisters Who Ignited American Romanticism (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2005), was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
