
Professor Schor is the author of several books including Plenitude: The New Economics of True Wealth (Penguin Press, 2010), Born to Buy: The Commercialized Child and the New Consumer Culture (Scriber, 2004), The Overspent American: Why We Want What We Don’t Need (Basic Books, 1998) and The Overworked American: The Unexpected Decline of Leisure (Basic Books, 1992).
Professor Schor is a magna cum laude graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
