Four Full Professors Receive New University Teaching Assignments

HostletterMargaret Hostetter was named chair of the department of pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She will also serve as director of the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation and chief medical officer at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She joined the faculty at the university in 2010.

Dr. Hostetter is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

DuganLaura Dugan was appointed director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2005 she was serving as the Larry L. Hillblom Chair in Geriatric Medicine at the University of California at San Diego. Earlier in her career she taught at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Dugan is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she majored in life sciences. She received her medical training at Ohio State University.

Tracy-IraniTracy Irani was named chair of the department of family, youth, and community sciences at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. She has been serving as interim chair since last October.

Dr. Irani is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree from Duquesne University, also in Pittsburgh, and a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Florida.

siemionowMaria Siemionow has joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago as a professor of orthopaedic surgery. For the past 18 years, she was director of plastic surgery research at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Siemionow earned her medical degree at Poznan Medical Academy in Poland. She holds a Ph.D. in microsurgery from the Christine Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, and a doctorate in microcirculation research from the University of Utah.
