Former Ambassador to Lead the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University

Barbara Bodine, the former U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, was appointed director of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She will also serve as a distinguished professor in the practice of diplomacy at the university. For the past seven years, Ambassador Bodine has been the director of the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative at Princeton University.
Bodine is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she majored in political science and Asian studies. She holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
