Eight Women Taking on New Administrative Assignments at U.S. Universities

ClayKaren Gwinn Clay was named general counsel at the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. She was an associate attorney at the Kullman Firm in Jackson, Mississippi.

Clay is a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women and the Mississippi College School of Law. She also holds a master’s degree in college student personnel from the University of Tennessee.

Dr.BlandConstance Bland was appointed vice president of academic affairs at Mississippi Valley State University. Dr. Bland has served on the faculty at the university since 1991 and in 1999 was appointed chair of the department of mathematics, computer, and information sciences.

Dr. Bland holds two bachelor’s degrees, a master’s degree in computer science and a Ph.D. in computer engineering, all from the University of Mississippi.

PollartSSusan M. Pollart was named senior associate dean for faculty affairs and faculty development at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She is the Ruth E. Murdaugh Professor of Family Medicine at the university.

Dr. Pollart is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine and has served on the faculty there since 1988.

granvilleKhala Granville is the new associate director of admissions at Indiana University in Bloomington. She was the executive director of the Brightwood Community Center in Indianapolis and earlier served as an admissions coordinator at the University of Louisville.

Granville is a graduate of the University of Louisville. She holds a master of divinity degree from the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.

wolfsonAmy R. Wolfson has been chosen as the next vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University Maryland. She will begin her new duties in July. Currently, Dr. Wolfson is a professor of psychology and associate dean of the faculty at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. She has been on the Holy Cross faculty since 1992.

Professor Wolfson is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.

romanda-noble2.tmb-thumbnailRomanda Noble-Watson is the new sports information director at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. For the past seven years, she was the assistant sports information director at South Carolina State University. She previously held sports information posts at Howard University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Noble-Watson is a graduate of the University of Maryland-College Park, where she majored in communication studies.

sue_listerSue Lister was promoted to director of public relations at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. She was associate director of internal communications at the university. She joined the university’s communications staff in January 2013 after working for Whirlpool Corporation in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She is the former assistant athletics director at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Lister holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bethany College in West Virginia.

bridgettebradyBridgette Brady was named director of transportation services at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. For the past 20 years, she has been on the staff at Washington State University, most recently serving as director of transportation services.

Brady holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University.
