Elizabeth Davis Named President of Furman University

elizabeth-davisThe board of trustees of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, has unanimously selected Elizabeth Davis as the 12th president of the university. She will take office on July 1. Furman University enrolls about 2,900 students and women make up 57 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Since July 2010, Dr. Davis has served as executive vice president and provost at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She is also a professor of accounting at the university. Professor Davis has served on the Baylor faculty since 1992. She is co-author of the textbook Managerial Accounting (John Wiley, 2011).

Dr. Davis is a graduate of Baylor University, where she majored in business administration. She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
