Two Women in New Administrative Posts at Washington State University

Washington State University in Pullman has announced the appointment of two women to administrative posts.
Colleen Kerr was promoted to vice president. She has been serving as associate vice president for external affairs and government relations. Kerr is the former deputy chief of staff for the Washington State Senate Democratic Caucus and the legislative director for State Senator Lisa Brown of Spokane.
Kerr earned master’s degrees at the University of St. Andrews and the University of Chicago. She earned a law degree at the University of Washington.
Lynne Varner was named associate vice president for public affairs. She will be based in Seattle. Varner has been an editorial writer for the Seattle Times. She has been on the staff of the newspaper since 1999. Earlier she was a staff writer for the Washington Post.
Varner is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park.
