Baker University Names Its Next President

Lynne Murray was named the next president of Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. She will take office in the summer of 2014. According to the latest Department of Education figures, the university enrolls 3,211 students, including 1,936 undergraduates. About 55 percent of the undergraduate students are women.
Dr. Murray is currently vice president of development and alumni and international relations at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. From 2008 to 2010, she was senior director for advancement at Georgetown University, also in Washington. Earlier in her career, she held posts in corporate and community relations at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Dr. Murray is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She holds a master’s degree in marketing from Johns Hopkins University and a doctorate in special education administration from Gallaudet University.
