A New Networking Opportunity for Women in STEM Fields

The Chicago Collaboration for Women in STEM is a joint initiative of the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. The collaboration has launched a new research networking portal to provide career development exposure for women scientists and engineers. The site, built on Elsevier’s SciVal Experts platform, includes profiles of 150 women scientists and researchers.
“The system is designed to stimulate networking collaboration across disciplinary and institutional boundaries while promoting women in STEM disciplines,” explains Lindsay Chase-Lansdale, associate provost for faculty at Northwestern University. “We hope that it will serve as a prototype for collaborative efforts to launch similar sites in other locations.”
