Four Women in New Teaching Roles at Coker College in South Carolina

Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, has announced the addition of nine new faculty members this fall. Four of the new hires are women.

Karen Hamilton is a new associate professor and chair of the department of business administration. She was an associate professor of finance at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree in instructional systems from Pennsylvania State University and a doctorate in business administration from Florida State University.

Kristin Hapke is a visiting assistant professor of dance. She previously taught at the University of Washington.

Hapke is a graduate of the University of Oregon. She holds a master of fine arts degree in dance performance and choreography from Ohio State University in Columbus.

Trina Rose is a new assistant professor of sociology. She was a research analyst at the Center for International Security and Policy Research.

Dr. Rose is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Denver and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Meredith Sims is a new visiting assistant professor of dance. She was an instructor of dance at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Sims is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky.
