Shannon Lundeen to Direct the Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University

shannon-lundeen-featShannon B. Lundeen was named director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been serving as associate director of the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, Dr. Lundeen was also the director of the Alice Paul Center for Research on Gender, Sexuality, and Women.

Lynn T. Singer, deputy provost and vice president for academic affairs at Case Western Reserve University, stated, “Shannon is a very dynamic individual. It is clear that she understands the function and extent of women’s centers throughout the country and clearly conveyed the responsibilities of those centers. Her understanding of women’s issues provides a strong foundation for her vision of the future of women’s centers, especially ours.”

Dr. Lundeen is a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where she majored in philosophy and women’s studies. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Stony Brook University. She is co-editor of Living Attention: On Teresa Brennan (State University of New York Press, 2007) and co-editor of The Voice of Breast Cancer in Medicine and Bioethics (Springer, 2006).
