Women Enrollments in Higher Education Decline by Nearly 3 Percent from 2012 to 2013

A report from Student Clearing House reports that in the spring 2013 semester there were 10,910,335 women enrolled in degree-granting institutions of higher education in the United States. This was down 2.7 percent from the spring 2012 semester.
There were 8,195,317 men enrolled in degree-granting institutions in the spring 2013 semester. This was down 1.7 percent from the 2012 spring semester.
In the spring 2013 semester, women made up 57.1 percent of all enrollments in degree-granting institutions. In the spring 2012 semester, women were 57.2 percent of the total enrollments.
