Ten Women in New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

glavasCindy Glavas is the new director of auxiliary services at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was associate director of business operations at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Glavas holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and an MBA from American University in Washington, D.C.

HackCharmaine Hack was promoted to registrar at Ryerson University in Toronto. She joined the staff at the university in 1989 and has been serving as executive director of undergraduate admissions and recruitment.

Hack is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds a master’s degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

bubLinda A.D. Bub was named director of education and program development for Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) at the New York University College of Nursing. She was the director of health services at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Glendale, Wisconsin.

Bub is a graduate of Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and earned a master’s degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

ingridstolzel-xxIngrid Stolzel is the new director of the International Center for Music at Park University in Parkville, Missouri. For the past 12 years, she was program manager for the Youth Symphony of Kansas City. She is the associate editor of the International Journal of Contemporary Composition.

Dr. Stolzel is a native of Germany and came to the United States in 1991. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City and holds a master’s degree from the University of Hartford. Dr. Stolzel earned a doctor of musical arts degree from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri Kansas City.

koehlerLaurie Koehler was named senior associate provost for enrollment management at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Her appointment is effective in July. Currently, Koehler is the interim dean of enrollment and dean of admissions at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. Previously, she held admissions posts at the University of Virginia, Cornell University and Miami University.

Koehler holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia.

HendricksloriLori Hendricks was promoted to director of athletics at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Since 2007, she has been the associate athletics director at the college. In her new role, Dr. Hendricks will serve as chair of the department of physical education.

Dr. Hendricks is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College. She earned a master’s degree in sport management from Ohio State University and a doctorate in higher education from the University of Michigan.

karenclarkeKaren Clarke was appointed the inaugural vice president for strategic marketing and communication at Temple University in Philadelphia. She has been serving as associate vice president for marketing and communication at the University of Houston and as associate vice chancellor for marketing and communication for the University of Houston system.

Clarke is a graduate of the University of Florida and is currently studying for a master’s degree in education.

m-Paustenbaugh1Jennifer Paustenbaugh was named university librarian at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She was the associate dean of libraries for planning and assessment at Oklahoma State University. She has been at Oklahoma State since 1990.

Dr. Paustenbaugh holds a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in information science, all from Indiana University.

peterPam Peter is the new director of the Office of Judicial Affairs at Syracuse University in New York. She joined the office in 2011 and has been serving as interim director since last August. She has been on the staff at the university for 11 years.

Peter holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University and is working toward a doctorate in the cultural foundations of education at Syracuse University.

carseyMarcy Carsey was appointed chair of the University of California at Santa Barbara Foundation. She will begin in this position on July 1. Carsey is an Emmy Award-winning television producer.

Carsey is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she majored in English literature.
