Audrey J. Anderson was appointed general counsel at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been serving as deputy general counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and previously was a partner at the Washington law firm Hogan and Hartson.
A graduate of Northwestern University, where she majored in economics, Anderson earned her law degree at the University of Michigan.
Joan Leavens was named program coordinator at the Urban Water Institute on the Olathe campus of Kansas State University. She has been serving as the leader of integration/outreach for One Health Kansas, a health education program of Kansas State University.
Leavens is currently completing work on a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction at Kansas State.
Karla Leeper was promoted to vice president for executive affairs at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She will continue to serve as chief of staff for Baylor President Ken Starr.
Dr. Leeper is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where she majored in communication and political science. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in rhetoric and argumentation from the University of Kansas.

Danoff holds a master’s degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
