Fullerton College in California Has Selected Two Women for Dean Appointments

Angela Henderson has been selected to serve as interim dean of the division of natural sciences. A Fullerton College faculty member for over two decades, Professor Henderson has extensive experience in student services, online education, program development, faculty support, and collaborative leadership. In addition to her role at Fullerton, she is the study abroad coordinator for the North Orange County Community College District.

Professor Henderson holds a master’s degree in English languge and literatures and a second master’s degree in reading both from California State University, Fullerton.

Jeanette Rodriguez is the new dean of the division of humanities. Since joining the Fullerton College faculty in 2015, Professor Rodriguez has served in several leadership capacities, including interim dean, coordinator of the communication studies department, and faculty senate president. Throughout her career, she has focused on reducing barriers and increasing access to education, particularly for English learners and historically marginalized students.

Also a two-time graduate of California State University, Fullerton, Professor Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in communication studies with an emphasis in international and Latino/a communication and rhetoric.

Dr. Howard joins Spelman from Ohio State University, where she has been serving as dean of the College of Engineering. She is a nationally recognized expert in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-centered technology.
