Stacy Hawkins is the new managing director of research and evaluation for the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University in New York. Most recently, she was chief of family research and principal investigator at Booz Allen Hamilton. She has also conducted research at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Hawkins earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Azusa Pacific University in California and both her master’s degree and Ph.D. in psychology from Claremont Graduate University in California.
Carmen Thompson has been appointed PACE (Professional Adult College Education) and Online Enrollment Coordinator at Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas. She brings prior experience in communications and marketing to her new role. Her background in higher education includes service at the University of Central Arkansas.
Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in media and communications from Webster University in Missouri.
Shena L. Crittendon has been named chief strategist for presidential branding and communication at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She first joined the university in 2023 as senior executive director of presidential communications. Her other experience in higher education includes leadership positions with Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Union University, and North Carolina A&T State University.
Dr. Crittendon received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Virginia Union University, a master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in strategic communication from Regent University in Virginia Beach.
Rita M. Dibble has been appointed vice president of institutional advancement at Adler University in Chicago. With over 25 years of professional experience, she most recently served as assistant vice president for philanthropy at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. She has previously held leadership roles at Peirce College in Philadelphia, Metropolitan State University, and Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.
Dibble holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English literature from Maharaja Sayajirao University in India. She earned a second master’s degree in mass communication from Syracuse University.
Amanda Thomas has been named assistant vice president of institutional research and effectiveness at West Georgia Technical College. Her background includes experience in compliance, accreditation, curriculum development, and advancement. Most recently, she was director of academic compliance for the University System of Georgia’s eCampus. Earlier, she was director of assessment at the University of West Georgia.
Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree both in criminology from the University of West Georgia.
Fullerton College has promoted Nichole Crockrom to director of the student success advocate program, a student retention initiative she designed and launched while serving as interim student success advocate coordinator. She has since hired, trained, and supervised a team of over 30 student advocates, and currently manages the program’s operations, professional development, and strategic partnerships.
Crockrom received her bachelor’s degree in business management from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and her MBA from Ohio University.
Lauren Cotten Howell has transitioned to a joint appointment with the University of Dayton’s Career Services and the University Honors program under the title of director of fellowships and graduate school advising. She first joined the University Honors Program in 2012, where she has led the Office of Fellowship Advising. She has also served as director of the DC Flyers Program, an internship opportunity through the honors program.
A graduate of James Madison University in Virginia, Dr. Cotten Howell holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from the University of Dayton.
Lori Stout has been promoted to senior director of admissions and student success for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. A Purdue staff member since 2008, she most recently served as the veterinary college’s director of admissions and recruitment. Earlier, she held various roles with what is now the university’s Mitch Daniels School of Business.
Stout received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, and her master’s degree in higher education from Purdue University Global.
Jane Savage has been appointed vice president for human resources at Stony Brook University in New York. She comes to her new role from Yale University, where she was associate vice president for human resources, organizational effectiveness, learning, and strategic initiatives. Her background in academia also includes experience in organizational development at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
Savage holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in public and private management from Yale University.
Lindsay Adkins has been named assistant vice president for marketing and communications at Mount Holyoke College, a liberal arts institution for women in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She has worked for the college’s Office of marketing and Communications since 2021, most recently serving as director of internal communications and operations. Earlier, she worked in print production with Random House Publishing Group.
Adkins received a bachelor’s degree in English and a bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theatre from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. She holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Stony Brook University.
Julie Shelby has been promoted to director of the Disability Resource Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. For the past three years, she has served as the center’s assistant director. She has previously held several roles with the university, including TRIO Student Support Services advisor.
Shelby holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in professional and technical writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Maggie Perrino is the new assistant dean for College-Conservatory of Music prep and community engagement at the University of Cincinnati. She has extensive experience as an arts administrator, theatrical producer, director, an choreographer. Previously, she was the artistic director of the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts and managing director of theatre for The Carnegie in Kentucky.
Perrino received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Miami University in Ohio and her master’s degree in theatre teaching from Thomas More College in Kentucky.
