Jean Ann Fischer, longtime faculty and administrator with the University of Nebraska, passed away on February 12 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 56 years old.
Prior to her career in academia, Fischer spent many years as a registered dietitian at Bryan LGH Hopsitals in Lincoln, Nebraska. She joined the staff at the University of Nebraska in 2009. She served in both staff and faculty roles over the past 15 years, including human sciences program leader, extension educator, and director of the nutrition education program. She also served as a lecturer and adjunct professor at both the University of Nebraska and other institutions across the state.
Fischer was a graduate of the University of Nebraska.
