
Nearly 460,000 of the 771,000 homeless population was male. Thus, men and boys made up 60 percent of all those classified as homeless. Just over 300,000 women and girls were considered homeless in 2024. Some 1.1 percent of all homeless people did not identify with traditional male or female identities.
There were 60,000 homeless people who said they were victims of domestic violence. There were 33,000 veterans who were homeless.
Nearly 2,700 people who were homeless were unaccompanied minors under the age of 18. More than a third of these were unsheltered. There were more than 9,000 homeless people under the age of 24 who had accompanied children.
