Women’s Health Research at Yale University Launches Two New Pilot Studies

Women’s Health Research at Yale has recently started two new research programs aimed at developing treatments for conditions unique to women and making health services more accessible for women of all backgrounds.

The first program, “Long-Acting Degradable Implants for Endometriosis Treatment,” will test a noninvasive method for treating endometriosis, a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterus grows outside of the uterus. The condition can cause severe pain and other serious medical complications.

The second program, “Mobile Care for Women with a History of Justice Involvement,” will pilot a new mobile health clinic that provides services to women who are transitioning from correctional institutions back to their communities. The clinic will provide primary care and prescription services, as well as connect women with other medical and social services resources.
