In Memoriam: Caroline Radesky, 1986-2024

Caroline Radesky, a history professor at several institutions, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2024. She was 38 years old.

Most recently, Dr. Radesky served on the faculty at Simmons University in Boston. She previously held teaching appointments at the University of Iowa and Harvard University. She was a scholar of nineteenth- and twentieth-century United States history and women’s and gender studies. As a professor, she taught courses on American cultural history, queer history, gender history, disability history, and historical methodologies.

Dr. Radesky was a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in history and women’s studies. She received her master’s degree and Ph.D. in history from the University of Iowa.
