April Paschall Honored for Contributions to Adult Learning and Continuing Education

April Paschall, senior associate director in the division of continuing studies at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, has received the 2024 Outstanding Distance Learning Adult Educator Award from the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education

The award recognizes Dr. Paschall’s contributions to advancing adult learning at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Her efforts include developing a bachelor’s degree program in multidisciplinary studies, redesigning capstone and seminar courses, and mentoring adjunct instructors.

Currently, Dr. Paschall serves as the senior associate director of learning and organizational effectiveness. Prior to her current role, she served as an assistant director. Earlier in her career, she spent five years with Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, where she was the director of institutional effectiveness.

Dr. Paschall is a graduate of Doane University, where she majored in art. She holds a master’s degree in textitle, clothing, and art from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Ph.D. in gerontology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
