In Memoriam: Susan Jacobs Johnson, 1945-2024

Susan Jacobs Johnson, associate professor emerita at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, passed away on August 17. She was 79 years old.

Dr. Johnson began her higher education career teaching social psychology at the University of Connecticut. She left her role to go to law school and then spent several years as a practicing trial lawyer. She ultimately returned to higher education as an associate professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where she stayed for the remainder of her career. Outside of academia, she was an active board member for several nonprofit organizations.

In addition to her law degree, Dr. Johnson held a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
