Dr. Johnon was a longtime professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She also spent several years of her career as a practicing trial lawyer.
The appointments to endowed professorships are Suzette Malveaux at Washington and Lee University, Jennifer Steffy at Vincennes University, Michelle Geoffrin-Vinci at Lafayette College, Martha Castañeda at Miami University, and Laba Obradovic at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Carol Archbold, a professor of criminal justice at North Dakota State University in Fargo, has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Outstanding Mentor Award from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
