Nicole DeRuiter Cho, social media manager at the California Institute of Technology, passed away on April 29 at the age of 41.
Cho joined the California Institute of Technology’s Office of Strategic Communications in 2018. In this role, she oversaw social media efforts regarding research, campus life, brand awareness, and crisis communications. Her other experience in higher education included a social media management position with the University of Southern California. Earlier in her career, she held social media positions with Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market and Teleflora.
Cho was an honors graduate of Central Michigan University where she majored in broadcast and public relations. She held a master’s degree in digital social media from the University of Southern California.
