Janell Oberlander Is the New Leader of Gillette College in Wyoming

Janell Oberlander was appointed interim president of the new Gillette Community College District in Wyoming. She has been serving as vice president of the Gilette College of the Northern Wyoming Community College District. Voters in Campbell County, Wyoming, recently approved the creation of the new community college district.

Before becoming vice president at Gillette College, Oberlander was vice president at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Craig. She had served in that tole for three years.

“This is an exciting time for Gillette College and higher education in our region. The support we have received from the Campbell County Commissioners, the State and our local community will allow us to provide future Gillette College students with an outstanding facility that will merit excellence in both academics and athletics and enrich the overall college experience.”

Oberlander is a graduate of Montana Technological University in Butte, which is part of the University of Montana. She holds a master’s degree in student counseling and personnel services from Idaho State University and is completing work on a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of Colorado Denver.
