Nancee Sorenson Is the New Chancellor of Louisiana State University Eunice

Nancee Sorenson is the new chancellor of Louisiana State University Eunice. The Eunice campus enrolls slightly more than 3,200 students, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 71 percent of the student body.

Dr. Sorenson was vice president for student development at Pima Community College, West Campus in Tuscon, Arizona, from 2002 to 2008. She moved to Pima College, East Campus, in 2009 to serve as vice president for student development there. She then was named acting president of Pima Community College. Since 2015, Dr. Sorenson has served as president of Hillsborough Community College, Brandon Campus, in Florida.

“It’s a true honor to be selected as the new leader of LSU Eunice” Sorenson said. “I am filled with excitement to be a part of the beautiful Eunice Campus, community and the internationally renowned Louisiana State University. I look to move the needle upward in student success, campus growth, and public and private partnerships.”

Dr. Sorenson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in agency counseling from Indiana State University. She earned a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
