Chaudron Gille Is the New Provost at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega

Chaudron Gille was appointed provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. Dr. Gille has served as interim provost since November 2018.

The University of North Georgia enrolls more than 19,000 undergraduate students and nearly 700 graduate students, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 57 percent of the undergraduate student body.

“It is my great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs,” Dr. Gille said. “I am proud of what we have accomplished at UNG over the last six years and very excited for what the future holds.”

Before joining the staff at the University of North Georgia, Dr. Gille was a professor of French at Gainesville State College, which merged with the University of North Georgia in 2012. She was also associate vice president for academic affairs at Gainesville State.

Dr. Gille is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where she double majored in French and economics. She earned a master’s degree in applied linguistics from Georgia State University and a Ph.D. in French literature from Emory University in Atlanta.
