Wendy Rheault Is the New President of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science

Wendy Rheault is the new president of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. She is the first woman to serve as president in the 107-year history of the university.

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science enrolls just over 2,100 students, all in graduate programs. Women make up 55 percent of the student body.

Dr. Rheault has served on the faculty at the university for 38 years. She has been interim president since January. From 2014 to 2018, Dr. Rheault served as provost. From 2003 to 2014, she was dean of the College of Health Professions.

In accepting the appointment, Dr. Rheault stated “I am proud and humbled to lead our university in its next phase of excellence and growth. I look forward to working with the board of trustees and many dedicated colleagues to advance the team approach to health care and research.”

Dr. Rheault earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a PhD in measurement, evaluation and statistical analysis from the University of Chicago.
