The New Leader of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas

The board of directors of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, has appointed Elizabeth Mauch as interim president of the college. She has been serving as acting president since July 8. Dr. Mauch is vice president of academic affairs at the college.

According to the latest data on file at the U.S. Department of Education, Bethany College enrolls just under 900 students. Women are only 43 percent of the student body. The college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

From 2012 to 2017, Dr. Mauch was dean of the College of Education at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She also served as a professor of mathematics at the university. After leaving Bloomsburg University, Dr. Mauch served as a Fulbright Scholar at the Lodz University of Technology in Poland.

Dr. Mauch is a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she majored in secondary mathematics education. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
