Patricia Hsieh Selected as the Next President of Hartnell College in Salinas, California

The board of trustees of the Hartnell Community College District has chosen Patricia Hsieh as the next president of Hartnell College in Salinas, California. She will take office on October 1.

Hartnell College enrolls more than 12,000 students, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 47 percent of the study body.

Dr. Hsieh has spent the last 14 years as president of San Diego Miramar College, one of three institutions that make up the San Diego Community College District. During her tenure, enrollments at the college doubled. Earlier in her career, she held executive posts at Sacramento City College, San Bernardino Valley College and Moorpark College, all in California.

Dr. Hsieh stated that “I look forward to going to work with Hartnell’s visionary board and dedicated faculty and staff in support of students from throughout the Salinas Valley and beyond.”

A graduate of National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Hsieh earned a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Wayne State University in Detroit. She holds a doctorate in institutional management in higher education from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
