Rosemary Blieszner was appointed dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She is an Alumni Distinguished Professor in the department of human development and has been serving as interim dean. Professor Blieszner has served on the Virginia Tech faculty since 1981.
Dr. Blieszner is a past president of the Gerontological Society of America. She is the author or editor of six books. Professor Blieszner is a graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree from Ohio State University and a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.
Sheilah M. Paul is the founding dean of the new School of Education at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York System. She has been serving as acting dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Education and is the former chair of the department of education at the college.
Dr. Paul is a graduate of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, where she majored in psychology and English. She holds three master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in education from Columbia University.
Four years after she was named the first woman president of the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Cowley has announced that she will step down and return to the faculty.
Prior to her new role, Dr. Walsh was dean and campus director of the University of Maine at Machias. Before that, she spent more than a decade with St. Bonaventure University in New York.
Dr. Frost has been a member of the Great Falls College community since 2011. For the past six years, she has served as executive director of instruction and student success.
