Kimberly Beatty Named Chancellor of Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City

Kimberly BeattyThe board of trustees of Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri, has chosen Kimberly Beatty as the eighth chancellor of the five-campus educational institution. Metropolitan Community College enrolls nearly 18,000 students and women make up 58 percent of the student body.

Dr. Beatty has been serving as vice chancellor for instructional services and chief academic officer at Houston Community College. Previously, she served as associate vice chancellor for student success at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. Earlier in her career, Dr. Beatty was a tenured associate professor of English at Cypress College in California.

Dr. Beatty holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in English, and a doctorate in higher education with a specialization in community college leadership, all from Morgan State University in Baltimore.
