The New Chair of the Board of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

Nancy B. Moody, president of Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee, was elected chair of the board of trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The commission is the chief accrediting agency for colleges and universities in the southeastern United States. Dr. Moody has served on the board of trustees since 2012 and has sat on the executive committee since 2014.
Dr. Moody became the first woman president of Tusculum College in 2009. Earlier, she was the first woman to serve as president of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. She has served as the inaugural executive director of the Tennessee Center of Nursing and as the first chair of the board of directors of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association.
President Moody is a native of Middlesboro, Kentucky. She earned an associate’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Moody holds a master’s degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University and a Ph.D. from the School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
