Two Women Appointed to Dean Positions at Major Universities

Carolyn Ma is the new dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She has been serving as interim dean since August 2015. She joined the staff at the College of Pharmacy in 2007 as the clinical education coordinator.
Dr. Ma is a graduate of Santa Clara University in California, where she majored in biology. She earned a pharmacy doctorate at the University of California, San Francisco.
Bobbie DeCuir was named dean of University College at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has served as interim dean of University College since 2012, which was known as the College of General Studies until 2014. Earlier, Dr. DeCuir was the director of the poverty and families division of the Picard Center for Child Development at the university.
Dr. DeCuir holds a Ph.D. in applied language and speech development from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.
