Utah State Promotes Three Women Scholars to Full Professor Posts

Utah StateThe College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Utah State university has promoted five faculty members to the rank of full professor. Three of these promotions went to women.

Jen_Peeples_Jennifer Peeples was promoted to full professor in the department of languages, philosophy, and communications studies. She is the co-author of the recently released book Under Pressure: Coal Industry Rhetoric and Neoliberalism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). Dr. Peeples is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. She holds a master’s degree in speech communication from Northern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in rhetorical criticism from the University of Washington.

FundaEvelyn Funda was named a full professor of English. She joined the faculty at Utah State in 1995 and specializes in western American literature. Professor Funda is the author of Weeds: A Farm Daughter’s Lament (Bison Books, 2013). Professor Funda holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boise State University in Idaho. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska.

usu profKristine Miller, a specialist in twentieth-century British literature, was promoted to full professor of English. She joined the faculty at Utah State in 1995. Professor Miller is the author of British Literature of the Blitz: Fighting the People’s War (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009) and Transatlantic Literature and Culture After 9/11: The Wrong Side of Paradise (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014). Dr. Miller holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from the University of Michigan.
