In Memoriam: Carolyn Willa Kohler, 1944-2016

Carolyn Kohler, a long-time librarian at Iowa State University, died last month at her home in Iowa City. She was 72 years old.
A native of Atlanta, Kohler earned a master of library and information science degree at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She joined the staff at Iowa State University Libraries in 1971 and was head of the government documents department at the university until her retirement in 2004.
In 2003, Kohler received the James Bennett Childs Award from the American Library Association for her lifetime contributions as a document librarian. After her retirement, Kohler became a lay minister for the United Methodist Church.
