University of Mississippi Hires Three Women as Development Officers

The University of Mississippi has hired four professionals in the Office of University Development. Three of the new hires are women.
Suzette Matthews is a new development officer for the University of Mississippi School of Law. She is a former high school teacher and a Teach for America Corps member, where she also was senior director for development of the Mississippi chapter. Matthews is a graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock and holds a master’s degree from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Katie Morrison was appointed director of development for corporate and foundation relations. For the past two years, Morrison has been a communications specialist for the Office of University Development at the University of Mississippi. Morrison is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she majored in English. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Arkansas.
Maura Wakefield was named assistant director of annual giving at the university.Wakefield worked in the development office as an intern while earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and an MBA at the university. She also worked as a public relations and marketing associate for the university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
