Berkeley College, with three campuses in New York and six in New Jersey, has promoted Beth M. Castiglia to the position of provost and chief academic officer of the college. She had been serving as dean of the Larry L. Luing School of Business at Berkeley College. Before joining the faculty at Berkeley College, Dr. Castiglia was a professor and dean of the School of Business of Felican University in Lodi, New Jersey.
Michael J. Smith, president of Berkeley College, said that “I am confident in Beth’s leadership and in her commitment to working with faculty, administrators and students to drive our mission at Berkeley College forward.”
In accepting the promotion, Dr. Castiglia stated that “I am excited to work with the faculty and the students, especially in integrating the students’ academic experience with the soft skills that go hand in hand with professional success in the workplace. This combination increases their competitive edge in their careers and in their ability to pursue postgraduate degrees.”
Dr. Castiglia is a graduate of what is now St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey. She holds a master’s degree in economics from Pace University in New York and a Ph.D. in applied management and decisions sciences from Walden University, based in Minneapolis.
