The Next Provost at Texas A&M University-Kingsville

Heidi M. Anderson has been selected as the sole finalist for the position of provost and vice president for academic affairs at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The board of regents must wait 21 days before the appointment is made official. If approved, Dr. Anderson will take office on September 14.
The Kingsville campus, located just west of Corpus Christi, enrolls about 9,400 undergraduates and 2,800 graduate students. The student body is largely Hispanic and women make up 54 percent of the undergraduate student body.
Since 2013, Dr. Anderson has been provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Previously, she was vice president for institutional effectiveness at the University of Kentucky. She served as a faculty member and an administrator at the University of Kentucky for 11 years.
A native of Gary, Indiana, Dr. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, a master’s degree in education, and a Ph.D. in pharmacy administration, all from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
