Suzanne Murrmann was named professor emerita of hospitality and tourism management in the College of Business at Virginia Tech. She joined the faculty at the university in 1982.

Doris Dwyer was named professor emerita of history at Western Nevada College. She taught at the college’s campus in Fallon, Nevada. She joined the faculty at the college in 1980.

Judy Dworin is retiring as professor of theater and dance at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. She has taught at the college since 1971 and was promoted to full professor in 1991.

Laurie Nussdorfer, the William Armstrong Professor of History at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, has retired. Professor Nussdorfer joined the Wesleyan faculty in 1986. Her most recent book is Brokers of Public Trust: Notaries in Early Modern Rome (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2009).
Dr. Nussdorfer is a graduate of Yale University and earned a master’s degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She holds a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in history from Princeton University.
Lori A. Clarke, professor and chair of computer science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst has retired after 40 years at the university. She joined the faculty in 1975 as an instructor and was promoted to full professor in 1986. She also served as co-director of the Laboratory for Advanced Software Engineering Research.
Professor Clarke is a graduate of the University of Rochester, where she majored in mathematics. She holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Colorado.
Virginia Hill Rice, a professor of oncology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, announced that she will retire on August 30. She joined the faculty in 1982 and was promoted to full professor in 1997.
Dr. Rice is a graduate of Boston University. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Wayne State University. Dr. Rice earned a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Cautin, provost of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, brings over two decades of higher education experience to her new role as president of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She is slated to begin her presidency on July 1.
