In Memoriam: Joan Range, 1931-2015

Sister Joan Range, who taught for 30 years at Saint Louis University in Missouri, died on May 7 at a facility of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Ruma, Illinois. Dr. Range was a co-founder of the department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Saint Louis University.
Professor Range taught theology at the university and served as president of the university’s Women’s Commission. She served on the board of governors of the Canon Law Society of America.
Dr. Range held bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Saint Louis University. She earned a Ph.D. in theology at Fordham University in New York.
