Three Women Appointed to Positions as Deans

rivera-millsASusana Rivera-Mills was named dean for undergraduate studies and vice provost at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She is a professor of Spanish linguistics and diversity advancement and has been serving as executive associate dean in the university’s College of Liberal Arts. Dr. Rivera-Mills has been on the faculty at Oregon State since 2007 and is the founder of the Center for Latino/a Studies and Engagement.

Dr. Rivera-Mills holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish linguistics from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in romance languages from the University of New Mexico.

jacqueline-reynolds-mozrall-smallJacqueline Mozrall was named dean of the Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. She has been serving as interim dean so the appointment is effective immediately.

Previously, Dr. Mozrall was a professor of industrial engineering and associate dean in the College of Engineering at the university. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System.

JennJennifer-Scanlonifer R. Scanlon was named interim dean for academic affairs at Bowdoin College in Maine. She will serve in the post for two years beginning on July 1. Dr. Scanlon is the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of the Humanities in the gender and women’s studies program at the college and has also been serving as associate dean for faculty.

Dr. Scanlon is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta. She holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Delaware and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in history from Binghamton University of the SUNY system.
