Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, has announced the promotion of 10 faculty members. Of the 10 promotions, three went to women.
Ruth Berger was promoted to full professor of mathematics. She joined the faculty at the college in 1993. A native of Germany, she studied at the Universitat des Saarlandes before coming to the United States to earn a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics at Louisiana State University. Before coming to Luther College, Dr. Berger taught at the University of Memphis.
Ginger Meyette was named an associate professor of social work and granted tenure. She joined the faculty at Luther College in 2009 after teaching at the University of Denver and Colorado State University. Dr. Meyette is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado. She holds a master of divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology and a master of social work degree and a doctorate in social work from the University of Denver.
April Rowe-Neal is a new associate professor of nursing. She was also granted tenure. Rowe-Neal joined the faculty at Luther College in 2008 after serving as the student nurse preceptor at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Rowe-Neal is a 2001 graduate of Luther College and holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota. She is currently completing work on a doctorate in nursing education from Capella University.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, business, and public service, Dr. Kollmann has been serving as chancellor of the New Mexico State University Global Campus. She is slated to become the next president of Vermont State University in July.
Throughout her career, Leeds has gained more than 25 years of experience as a professor and university administrator. Currently, she serves as dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
Dr. Recasner has over two decades of experience as a tenured faculty member and senior administration in higher education. She has been serving as the interim president of Seattle Central University.
