In Memoriam: Barbara Louise Boyce Biales, 1935-2015

Barbara Boyce Biales, professor emerita at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, died on February 28. She was 79 years old.
A native of Delano, Minnesota, Biales earned a bachelor’s degree at St. Catherine University, majoring in psychology and French. She then studied at the University of Louvain in Belgium on a Fulbright Scholarship and returned to the United States to earn a master’s degree at Columbia University in New York City.
After completing doctoral work at the Child Development Institute of the University of Minnesota, Biales joined the faculty at St. Catherine University in 1960. She served as chair of the department of psychology from 1979 to 1988. Professor Biales retired from teaching in 1997.
Professor Biales had four daughters. All four attended and graduated from St. Catherine University.
